2026 and Beyond

December 23, 2025

As you can see from the date above, I’m writing this two days before Christmas. This time of year is always pretty special for a number of reasons. Faith. Family. Friends. Fun. (How’s that for cheesy alliterative prose?)

Another part of this time of the year is reflection. We all look back over the past year and do the classic re-run thing in our minds. Some stuff brings a smile or outright laugh, some maybe a frown and one or two things brings a tear or three.

For us, it’s been a crazy year. The first book in the Gangrel War series published (Shameless plug: “It’s available wherever books are sold!”), the next two in the series done and in the hands of our very capable editor. Book one in a totally new series completed and ready for the editor’s knife.

Add to that the fun we’ve had with book signings and just flat out learning the ‘back room’ part of authorship, well, whirlwind doesn’t always do it justice. It’s truly a joy and wondrous to me just how all of this has come together.

I’ve had the individual pleasure of meeting a couple of authors whose work I’ve read and taken pleasure in. If you’ve never read any books in the Last Brigade series by William Alan Webb, I would strongly recommend them to you. Bringing great characters to life and framing them in an incredible story is fun, and Bill Webb has done just that. Again, if you enjoy military sci-fi with an eye towards realism, take my word for it and check out The Last Brigade. ‘Nuff said.

Bill introduced me to Kevin Steverson, a prolific talented author and good guy based out of Georgia. If you’ve read any books in the Salvage Title universe, then you’re familiar with his work. As luck would have it for all of us, he has some of the Salvage universe coming to a screen near you out of Hollywood. Can’t wait.

Bill put Kevin and me together to write a short story as part of a never-before-done anthology project. Several well-known authors are paired with ‘rookies’ to write origin short stories each for an entirely new series of science fiction. This is exciting on many levels. Now, not only is the short story done, but that story has become part of Chapter 1 of the first book in our series. More to come later!

So, as 2025 winds down, I find myself still trying to catch up to all that’s happened while, at the same time, preparing myself for what’s ahead in 2026 and beyond. New books, cons, meeting all you wonderful people... Just wow.

May your 2026 bring you opportunities to pursue your dreams, and may you recognize them when they come to you. Cyd and I will continue to write and create some adventures we hope you will enjoy. Just know that we also hope you do not hesitate to chase those dreams.

All the best to you and yours!

Craig
