Me and My Shadow

While it’s only been a couple weeks since I wrote the last entry, a lot’s happened. The Anthromech Anthology is being released in less than two weeks, and I found out from Chris Kennedy, Publisher Extraordinaire, that the story Kevin Steverson and I wrote is the first one in the book!

It’s entitled “Me and My Shadow”, and it takes place in the 23^rd Century. Basically it’s the origin tale of a veteran Marine and a prototype mech as they learn to work together and, more importantly, become effective warfighters on operations both overt and clandestine across the Alliance. We’ve had a blast writing it and creating the timeline / galaxy two centuries from now.

Liberty Con 38 is just five and a half weeks out, and I’m pretty pumped about that as well. I spent some time talking with Bill Webb the other day to get the intel on the event, as it’s my first one there, and he was kind enough to really walk me through what’s going to be happening. It’s primarily a writers’ and publishers’ Con, with a limited number of fans’ tickets for entry.

As I understand it, the weekend isn’t just about military sci-fi. It has elements of fantasy, LitRPG and even Romantasy all mixed in. Should be a blast! I’ll be on two panels that weekend. One for Chris Kennedy Publishing, something I’m proud to be a part of. The second panel is for new authors, and I’m definitely a newbie!

Chris Kennedy set the release date for Book One in the Shadow Mode series that originated with the Me and My Shadow short story as June 26^th. That’s the Friday of the Liberty Con 38 weekend. Should be really interesting to see how it’s presented, marketed and received. As a newcomer, all of this is fascinating to me.

The team at Ment Marketing is finishing up a trailer for Book One, and it will come out when the official release of the cover happens. I know Chris will be doing that in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned! Amelia, John and Cameron are amazing, and I really look forward to seeing what they’ve created!

Book Two in the series is complete and in the capable hands of Kevin to edit, and I’m well into Book Three now. With books in the Gangrel War series ready to go and the Shadow Mode series as well, I’m living the life of a full time writer and author. I couldn’t ask for more!

This is a short entry, as I wanted to keep you all up to date. I’ll be back with a lot more after Liberty Con at the end of June. Until then, I encourage to keep after your dream. It can take a while, as I know full well, but when the opportunity presents itself to jump in...
